2006 Supercrew - will tires rub??

After doing a lot of research I have found that 17s will not fit on my truck. Im looking to put Nitto Terra Grappler LT325/60 R18 on M/T classic lock 18x10. The M/T classic locks in 18x10 have a 6" back spacing I believe stock is 5 1/2" of back spacing. How will this back spacing affect the truck. Looks or problems? Will i get much (or any) rubbing. I plan to put a 2 1/2" leveling kit on it. My truck is a 4x4 XLT.
thanks again

You have to buy a truck first. A loaner doesnt count.

Those will stick out 2 inches farther than the OEM 7.5 inch wide wheels that have 5 1/2 inches of backspacing. I don't know anyone running that combo, but several members have fit that size tire using a 18x9 inch wheel with 5 inches of backspacing. I think it will fit, but I'm not positive.

I havent been able to find a 18x9 in the wheel that I want. M/T website shows classic locks in 18x10 only. Whats the worse that would happen? Might have to trip a little or just not fit at all?

If you don't get the right backspacing, the tires will stick way outside the fenderwells and rub. For some reason, most of the 10 inch wide wheels I've seen for your truck don't have nearly enough backspacing. Usually they have around 4 1/2 inches, which is perfect for the 97-03's, but not enough for the 04-06's. I think a 10 inch wide wheel with 6 inches of backspacing will work. The 22's on my Expy are 9.5 inches wide and have 6.7 inches of backspacing.

I just had a guy email me with the answers to my questions. He has an 05 with the same setup that I am looking at. He has no problems at all.
Another question. Will the larger wheels/tires have a negitive affect when im towing. I will be towing close to the trucks limit of #8700. Ill be pulling a 30' toy hauler with a dry weight of around #7000. Should I stay stock. What if I add a Troyer performance chip for towing? Will that make up for the larger tires? sorry for all of the questions...

The answer to the effects is "it depends". It depends on your truck and how it was equipped. If your truck has a 5.4 with 4.11 gears and the 275/65-18 tires, which are almost 33 inches tall, you will probably notice little or no difference. If your truck came with a 4.6 with tall gears and small tires, you will notice a difference when you install the 325/60-18's.
