What Backspacing?

What backspacing on wheels do i need for my 05 4x4 without having my wheels stick out lik 3 inches like a lowered mexicans car? I was going to get these american racing ones with 4.5=625 back spacing they were 17x10 and was told they would stick out lik 3 inches. Now if i got 17x8 wheels with 4.25 backspacing it would stick out but...a inch or so?

I could be mistaken but I think the higher the less it will stick out. Most guys with our model 150's are going with 5.5.

5.5 is the backspacing for the factory wheel at 7.5 inches wide. so an 8.5 inch wide wheel with the same backspace or no more than 5 should not be a problem. When you start getting into the 9 and 10 inch wheels then it becomes critical so that you don't have the look you are dreading. I have seen some American racing wheels 18x8.5 with 5.5-6.0 inch backspace. They look pretty nice(to me) the FUEL and the SPINE versions. Good luck. The smaller the number on the backspace the more they will stick out.

Sorry about that. try www.wheelsforless.com they have pretty good prices and also have free shipping on some items. They also carry many other brands. the models I was looking at were American racing. SPINE and FUEL.

I'd try to stick with the OEM 5 1/2 inch backspacing.

Do you think the 6 backspace will be too much on a wider wheel?? Thanks
