Has anyone tried Cooper Tires ?

I'm getting ready to put a 2.5 Autospring lift with ProComp 6001 17x9 rims on my 2005 Screw 4x4 and looking for a nice 35 inch tire. I came across an add for Cooper Discoverer ATR tires that come in a LT315/70R/17. Since most of my driving is on-road I want something that rides nice and is quiet.

I've never had Coopers before, has anyone experienced them ?

Thanks for your help.

I think that Cooper makes a pretty good tire FOR THE PRICE. They are not considered THE BEST and some will say they may be CR*P but I would have bought a set of the Discoverer STT if I had the money at the time. I ended up with TOYO M/T because I got some credit at Les Schwab.

Here are some post with mainly Positive reviews. You may have a bitter member with hatred toward the brand or a bad experience but for the most part looks good. I DID read a thread that claimed that cooper has had the most recall of tires than any other company, but they have been around for a long time and they could not have done that by making cr*p. I will probably look into a set when these wear out. Hope this helps. :santa:

I was checking out some Goodyear Silent Armors today and they are supposed to be a very quiet highway tire, and they have some good looking tread on them. They look similar to the BFG A/T's. You may want to check into those.

The ATR series has alot of siping that would help in rain and snow. Many seem to go with the Toyo open country AT, BF goodrich AT, or Nitto Terra grapplers.

The goodyear silent armor is quite expensive as I found out. Some gave it bad review on Tirerack.com. I don't have any personal experience with the goodyears, but I did like the cooper cobra I had on my mustang a few years back.

Thanks for the info guys. I did some pricing on the Cooper tires and I can get BFG All terrains for $15 a tire cheaper. I'll go with the BFGs, I've had them before and now they hold up.

Thanks again.

Hi,

I had a set of coopers et al they were on 15 inch rims on my old 94 F-150 that recently got totaled in an accident. Any rate the coopers were an OK tire....BFG and GY sets that I had were better.

The rebate makes them attractive.
