Tire fit...

Does anyone know the biggest tire that will fit on a 2001 F150 Supercrew King Ranch 4x4? The only mod I have done on it is raise the torsion bars to level the truck out.

You see I went 4 wheeling on some nasty trails (pictures posted soon) and if I had 2 more inches of clearance, I wouldn't have screwed up my running boards. The misses absolutely will not let me raise the truck with a kit, but I was hoping to get a little more lift by tire size. Right now I have 265/70/17.

I've heard several different peoples' opinion on this, maybe someone out there can enlighten me who has done the same. Pictures would be great also!

Thanks!

My truck's 33x12.5/16.5 tires raised my truck about 2" higher than our neighbor's truck with stock tires...her's is a 2001, ours is a 2002 if that makes any difference.

If you use the OEM wheels and crank up the torsion bars, you can fit 315/70-17 (35x12.50).

That's what you have on yours? If so, man that looks tough! Any problems with rubs or anything?

Fireman - I have the 285/70/17 on my '03 KR with aftermarket wheels. It probably only raised the truck about 1/2"-3/4" but they definitely look nice IMO. I have not even raised the torsion bars on mine. Completely stock on the suspension.
