Suggestions on 33's or 35's

For those with first hand experience I would like your opinions. I have 05 FX4 with 3.73 gears and 2.5" leveling kit and 18x9.5 wheels with 4.25 backspace. I wanted to get a larger tire and have found difficulty getting anything I like in size 18 and worry about poor articulation or rub. I tow a vehicle and do mostly highway driving but off road about 30%. I am not looking to change gears anytime soon. I have considered 33 toyo m/t 35 Nitto mud grapplers or 325/60-18 and 325/65-18 terra grapplers. If anyone has had a set-up with 33 or 35 or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
And yes I have done a search through the Forum for those who are quick on the trigger. Thanks

35's are pretty big with no lift, would go with 33's.

Thanks for the info, I plan on getting a 6 inch lift later on; but my truck is too new and still owe alot. I think I'll save the 35's for later along with the lift. For now I think I'll probalby go 33's. Thanks again

04 FX4 here. Just put the 2" level kit on front with some 20x9 wheels and 305/55/20's . All fits nicely. I also would stay away from 35's without the lift.

PS. This link is a great help for sizing:

I have the Terra Grapplers. All I have is the 2.5 inch spacers up front on my 04 FX4. Great ride and look. As you will see from the photo, they are on stock FX4 18" rims.

Thanks BIGDAVE4 , I ended up with toyo mud terrains 33's on 18x9.5 mojave wheels. My f-n truck looks so awesome(to me at least). I had been looking at the terra grappler but I wanted something a little more agressive. I am more than extremely pleased. I have a heavy bumper up front so the leveling kit just kind of balanced everything out. Thanks for the post and reply.

Yes I believe that you do lose some power as well as gas mileage. Not only does the vehicle have a heavier tire, heavier wheel, but the height increases drag thus forcing your truck to use more power to get you against the wind on the highway. Also on some other thread some folks don't recommend 20's due to their price. As well as perhaps limited off-road capability if that is any concern. You can definitely find more options for 20's than 18's. There is more info on other threads about this. Some like the 20's and some don't . Get what you like. I think a loss in 1-3 miles per gallon increases the appearance and versatlilty of your vehicle. Good luck.

I have the 33s with the front leveling kit. I've noticed a little bit of power loss and i also have the 4.6 motor. Ive noticed it gets windy at top speeds.
