I have an 05 STX 4x4. I would like bigger tires than the 255/70/17 P.o.S Generals that are presently on. I would like something taller and wider to feel up the wheel well, but I don't want to kill my performance. What are some of you guys runnin' and or what do you recommend? Has anybody put on any factory takeoffs from the FX4? Pics would help alot. Thanks

 

my friend has got 265/75/17 they came with it and it didnt seem to be ball less or anything like that

 

I have 4.6 screw and found some DUNLOP RVXT , size 275/70/17 and like the way they look and have 17 x 8 PLATINUM RETROS .They are just a touch over 32'' tall & the truck still runs good and plenty of pep. When i go back to dealer going to get it programed for 18'' FX tires should be about like stock. Check out pics and see if tall enough.

 

I have 265/75/16 tires with 3.55 rear end on my 97; size was changed by the original owner. I don't tow anything so the only time I notice a lack of power is when driving in hilly areas. At those times I just turn the overdrive off.
