A/T tire owners please, time for me to get new tires

I am looking into getting new tires at the end of the week.

I am going to get A/T tires and here are my options:
Pro Comp
Nitto Terra Grappler
BFG A/T
Yokohama Geolander
Toyo Open Country

I am also thinking about stepping up to a 285/75/17 instead of 265/70/17.

What do you think is the best size and tire for the money?

I just put bfg a/t's on my screw about a month ago and love them. I have a 2wd so the biggest i could go without rubbing was 265/70/17. They arent the cheapest that you can go tho.

Thanks guys, anyone else? still a few days remaining on the decision. The guy at 4whl parts was leaning towards the nitto's too. What do you guys think if you upped the size to 285/75/17 though? I will be putting a lot of miles on them and live out in the country so there is a lot of snow to deal with. Also, I do interstate driving year-round.

Thanks All!

StngStr, if you do mustangs send me an e-mail at scrubber1228@hotmail.com and tell me what ya got. I have one as my toy project.

Indy I have owned four sets of BFG All Terrains over the lasst ten years and they were all terrific tires. I ran one set on a Jeep Wrangler to 74000 miles in 2.5 years and they still werent slick! Just put 285-65-18's on my 05 screw and they transformed the truck IMO. You can NOT go wrong with BFG.

I "used" to do mustangs. I had a 2003 GT with all bolt ons running 13.1@105 on ET streets and then traded in last September on a 2003 Cobra that I modded up to about 525 rwhp and low 11's at low 120's. But, last month I put it back to stock, sold all the parts and traded in on this 02 F150. Needed something more practical cause we just had a baby 6 months ago. The whole mustang thing was occupying too much of my time and $$$.

So...no more mustangs for a few years.

If snow is an issue then the BFG's are excellent. I've never had a better snow tire and they last a long time. They aren't the softest riding though because they have 3-ply sidewalls. They are not rough riding by any means but there are softer riding tires out there.

I've also heard the BFG's are great for the snow

Also, I would go for the 285/70R17s, they look good on the trucks.

I would say BFGs. I have 85,000 miles on them now and I still have plenty of tread left. I will be buying another set next month, 285/75/16

Chalk another vote up for the BFG's. I have a set on my '03 King Ranch and love them. I went with the 285/70/17's on my truck. I have no experience with the other tires so I can't bad mouth them by any means, but I can certainly give my thunmbs up for the BFG's.

I had BFG A/Ts on my bronco. They were good in the dirt and the snow but they wore funny on the road. There is no center tread.

I had these on my last few trucks.

Nice center tread for the freeways and good tread for light off-roading - excellent in snow.

I have to agree with APT, I just replaced my BFGs with Revos and I like them better. LT 265/70R/17
