Brake Recommendations
I am currently doing research online for replacement brakes for my 1997 F150 Supercab Flareside XLT, 2WD, 5.4 V8. Which brakes would be good and best for it. The last time I replaced the brake pads on the front I went with Ceramics. Now I need to repace the rotors and and the pads, front (Disk) and back (Drum).
I have looked at slotted and drilled rotors. Are they as good as I have been reading about? I usually do just normal driving and I don't do any 4 wheeling, in it.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Well, did you not like the performance of the ceramics? It depends on what you want. I went with the stock pads on mine all the way around. Got 40k with no squeal until they were due and no rotor damage. Some of the high performance pads have had complaints of being loud like a bus and eating the rotors. Search the forum.

I run the R1Concepts crossdrilled/slotted rotors with ebc greenstuff pads. They are by far superior to anything else I have ever run. I only got a smidgeon of squeal after towing 7000 pounds for 350 miles. I have never heard of anyone having a cracking issue on these crossdrilled rotors. Mercedes and Porsche have been using crossdrilled for over 20 years, and that alone tells you something. Here is a picture of mine from right after install. I highly recommend this setup. R1concepts in on ebay, the pads came from pep boys

Just under 2000 miles on that setup I posted above ( I don't drive that much, but two trips in 14 days (10 days in mexico with the worm) and I can't say enough good stuff about them!! What was really cool was that while on a bridge in charleston with concrete walls on both sides, you can actually hear the crossdrilled letting the air through. Hard to explain the sound, but the actual increase in braking capacity has been nothing short of amazing. Then again, most of you guys don't have 8000 pounds to brind to a halt everyday, and I don't think anyone else is stopping 8000 pounds with a blower strapped on it
