Angry Brake Dust Shields

Hey all, I have found myself looking for a set of brake dust shields for my '05 F150, and all the websites I have found (KleenWheels, etc.) don't carry them for this make/model. Anyone know where I can get some? I'm out there every 4 or 5 days scrubbing my rims, and it's a pain in the ****. I have the stock 5-spoke FX4 alloys, 18".

I'd be careful of brake dust shields. I've heard of users (not only on f-150's) that have put them on and they literally melted to the rim and caused all kinds of troubles. I would just buy some better brake pads. It would be your safest bet...and look the best.

Brake dust shields are great, if you like doing your brakes often. Even the "turbo vented" one retain large amounts of heat within the brake system, causing warped and glazed rotors, glazed pads, and brake system nightmares. SUre, every once in a while one works without a hitch, but it isn't worth the chance if you just clean your wheels weekly

Either call or email KleenWheels and ask directly. They may have them.

I agree, I have put ceramics on two of my veh's F150 supercrew and explorer sporttrack they both have excelant braking no noise and zero brake dust on wheels I purchased them at Advance Auto parts not shure of the brand but only slightly higher price than premium pads. worth every penny to me.

RockyJSquirrel is right...... put on Akebono ceramics and after about 800 miles (3 weeks) the wheels still look clean. Braking performance is great on my 04 FX4 scab .

Heres the link the ebay site that I got mine from. This guy carries all of them, you just need to contact him. $24.95 a set. I bought 2 (front and rear) and it was only $60 total including shipping to my front door. Took about 3 days, great seller.
good luck,
Mike

I went with the EBC greenstuff pads. They are, to say the least expensive ($146 for front and rear) but there is zero dust and excellent braking.

I have the Kleen Wheels on my FX4. Works great, absolutely no brade dust and no problems in the 5k miles I've had them on.

I have Porterfield ceramic/kevlar pads on my Lariat, which are also great. But I still get a little brake dust which the Kleen Wheels never get.
