Question 16" MB's, 35" bfg AT's, 3" body lift

hello,
2 Weekends from now, I am purchasing some 16" MB's, 35" bfg AT's, and a 3" body lift for my 2001 f150 4x4. This is all costing me about $1500. I was looking at wheels at discount tire, I want to stay with 16", but i need wider wheels because stock will bow the tires too much on top. I am looking at 16-8's, I like the look of the chrome plated wheels alot. But, I have heared that the chrome plated wheels bend much easier and the chrome will eventually start to flake off. With this kind of investment, i want to get some wheels that will last a while. Is it true that the chrome plated bend easier than aluminum, or is it just a rumor. I do quite a bit of off-roading so i need something sturdy.... Chrome plated or Aluminum?
THANKS

The chrome plating has nothing to do with ease of bending. What is underneath the chrome does. Steel will bend, but cast aluminum will crack or break. This is not a concern to most people unless they do really hardcore offroading.
