OEM General AmeriTrac

I have a 04 Heritage F-150 4X4 XL, I have 13,xxx miles,P255/70/16, I got it new last year about this time. Does or has any one had these tire on a truck, I'm not to happy with them, becasue they are wearing fast, it looks like I have 25,000 miles on them. I did rotate them. I'm looking to get new tires, I'm thinking of BFG T/A.
thanks

They are a pretty cheap tire. Most owners complain about them. The BFG AT KO is a much, much better tire. I currently have a little over 40,000 on mine and they look like they could go another 20,000. You might also consider the Toyo Open Country AT, Toyo Open Country AT or the Bridgestone Duelers.

Alot of companies put sub-standard tires on their new cars. They can save $100-$150 a car and its your problem when they wear out early.

It would be nice if they put high quality tires on at the factory, But I think ford just kind of said " To hell with it " after the Firestone Fiasco.

General Ameritrac's have gotten poor reviews on TireRack's feedback section. I got a chance to see one up close the other day. The sidewall had more waves in it than a Miss America pagent. I'd avoid them.
