2005 F150 XLT NO BFG tires???
I just got a 2005 F150 SuperCab 4X4 and it has some "real nice" highway tires on it. I naturally figured I would get some BFG AT's on there as I have had them on all my other trucks. The tires sizes for the truck ( as listed by Ford)
235/70R17 and optionally 255/65R17. Unfortuntately BFG doesn't make tires in these sizes...
What tires have other people put on their trucks for a good snow, all weather, light duty off road tire like the BFG AT's? I need it for our MN winters!
Is there another size of BFG AT's I could fit on with no lift kit?
Any info would be great!
Thanks,
Gene

The LT265/70R17 will fit no problem, although you might want to get 5 due to the difference in size with your spare as there is a difference of over 1.5" in diameter between the 265/70 and the 255/65. Also you will lose some power off the line due to the larger tire.
If you really want to go larger, the LT285/70R17 will also fit.
Edit - You would also probably want to get the computer reprogrammed for the new size, to get the speedometer correct.

285 70 17 will also fit...I have LT 265 70 17 BFG RTT/A on my 04 f-150...Soon the aftermarket will catch up to Ford's odd ball tire size(S) Also the FX4 is 285 70/18....I bought a 2nd hand 40.00 Good year tire RTS mounted balanced as a spare...( more tread on the spare than came with the Hancooks..org tires which suck.. )
