Nitto Terra Grappler questions...

First things first… I have done some searching but have not been able to answer a couple of questions.

I will be replacing the tires on my truck before this winter. I am currently running 265/75/16 and plan on keeping this size. I do mostly highway driving, but I do have the occasional need to go off road for emergency situations with the fire department. I am considering the following : Bridgestone Dueler AT Revo, BFG All Terrain AT KO or the Nitto Terra Grappler AT.

The questions that I have not been able to really find info on is how well the Nitto tires handle in snow and how well do they wear. I know that the Bridgestone and BFG's do quite well in both areas.

Any recommendations or opinions will be appreciated.

All three are excellent tires. I'm not sure what kind of milage you can get out of the Nitto's however. I got over 60k out of a set of Bridgestone Dueler AT and expect to get that out of my BFG's. I currently have over 40k on them.

Thanks for the reply Wandell... I am leaning towards the Dueler Revo's because I can get them locally, but am curious about the Nitto's.

I have the Nitto Grappler's and I love them. Last winter, they did great in the snow, and theyre awesome in the mud too. Much better than the BF Goodrich AT's that were on there before. You may want to consider the Nitto Mud Grappler's also, I heard they wear exactly the same as the All-Terrains and I'm sure theyre much better off-road etc.

Nitto's

I have the Nitto's 295-70/17 and they are great. Off road they get better traction that the BFG mud terrians that my Dad has on his f-250. And on the highway they are quiet, not something I expected from an All terrian tire. They ride and handle much better than any Goodyear AT I have ever had.

Only my 2 cents.

Thanks for the input guys... keep the opinions coming

92vmax...

I see that you live on the east end of the pond and I am just east of Rochester. I know that you get your share of snow up along the 81 corridor.

You stated that they are great in the mud, but just to clarify, on a 1 to 10 scale how are they in the lake effect crap that we get in this area?

Thanks in advance.
