I read a review in one of the 4x4 mags that said they worked good. It's the only directional all terrian tire I've ever seen. You might also consider the new Mickey Thompson ATZ. A member at FTW has them and says they perform great. They look awesome!

Exclamation thanks wandell

i understood it all except the end.. were you saying the ATZ looks good or the extreme all terrain? plus i was going for the extreme all terrain because tirepackage.com has a buy 3 get 1 free deal...so since im not in the mood to wait for the nittos...do you think i should go for the pro comps...plus do you think they will handle well on the roads?

thanks again

Both tires look good. I think the sidewall design of the Mickey's looks better, but that is just a matter of opinion. Both tires are supposed to handle well on pavement.

The one review article I've read on the X Treme AT's was very favorable.

If you arent so sure about the XTerrains, maybe you should look at the Bridgestone Dueler AT REVOs. Tons of people here have them and I have never seen a bad review.

Tires

I have heard good things about the Pro-comps, But I like the Nitto's, You can see how they look at this link.

https://www.f150online.com/galleries....cfm?gnum=6248

I like how they handle, look and go both on and off road, they were worth the wait for me!

My leuitenant at the fire department just put on 37" xtreme all terrains on his 3/4 ton Chevy. He loves 'em. They should wear pretty well. His brother has the ProComp all terrains with 38,000 miles and has plenty of tread life left. I had Procomp mud terrains for a short while and those even rode nice on the road for MT's. I think ProComps are a good tire especially for the price. Just my opinion though!

The Mickey Thompsons and the Pro Comps are both built by Cooper, as are the **** Cepek Fun Country II's. They are comparable quality and perform about the same. Both the MT's and Pro Comps are tough, heavy tires. The Nittos are heavy (in the size you want), also, and work well like others have said. I mention weight because most of the new tire offerings weigh quite a bit, especially in the higher load ranges, which makes them harder to turn.

IMHO, you won't be disappointed with the Pro Comps. The Nittos are a great tire, but you really won't gain too much by waiting.
