315/70-17 on a 17"x9"

I've read in the forums of several cases of people fitting 315/70-17's on stock rims with only a leveling kit (2004/2005 my's). I've got a leveling kit and 17's, but the only problem is I have the 9" wide rim with the HD package compared to the 7.5 rim on the other stockers. Is this going to hose my chances of not rubbing? Any insight would be great.

I have seen one 315/70/17 w/ stock XTL 17x7.5 rim f150, it looks good!

I also saw some rubbings at full turns (control arms and sway bar) but thats not big deal.

I believe your 17x9 would be good/better wear than 17"x7.5 but i am not sure if wider rims than 7.5 will cause more rubbings or not.

Why not to have some local tire store mount 315 on your rims front only and check for clearence? if its no big deal then buy it !

HTH!

Do you have OEM wheels? If you do, I believe they are 7.5 inches wide.
