Question Curb Scratches

What is the best way to repair curb scratches on aluminum wheels without having them replaced or repaired by someone who wants to put a hole in my pocket? I heard that you could use a very fine sand paper to smooth out the scratches. Any other suggestions?

we have a wheel repair shop by me, they can pretty much fix anything - they're actually pretty cheap too. a friend of mine hit a pot hole and made a 18" rim look like a football and they fixed that... looked perfect afterwards. you might want to call around and see if you can find a shop that can fill it then polish it down or something for you.
