Go with 23's if you want a little smoother ride. Although it's not going to be much of a difference between the two. You shouldn't have to do any mods to your rig, all your doing is going up in wheel size and down in side wall size. You can keep pretty much the same over all tire hight or go up a little as I did. I went from factory 17's w/ a 30.5 inch tire to 22's with a 32.8 inch tire (305/45/22 cooper zeon xst) and it fits perfect. I went back and forth between 22's & 23's and the difference between the 305/40/23 and the 305/45/22 was about 1/2" of sidewall, basically the total difference in the rims, 1". the tire sizes were the same in the toyo brand, 32.6 inches tall. But, because I have an FX4 4x4, I went with the 22's and a little taller sidewall. You should easily fit a 305/40/23 or a 305/35/24 size tire on you truck. If your looking at 2 different rims, one 23 and one 24, go with the one you like better. Hope this helped a little.

Yeah, every time you jump up a tire size get ready to fork out more $$$$$. at least after 20's. These are 305/45/22's and your 23's will only have 1/2" less in side wall width and trust me these 22's ride better that the stock 17" goodyear at's that I had.
