Wondering

Alright, I got the ok from dad to get any size rims I want as long as the tire isnt like a rubberband lol So i was wondering what is the biggest tire i can put on a 22 inch rim without changing anything such as speedo or shift points. Right now the overall diameter of wheel and tire is right at 30 inches. How many inches can i go up with out changing a thing?

Any change in the tire diameter is going to change your's speedo's accuracy.

You dont necessarily HAVE to correct the speedo, but you do need to take it into effect when you are driving because its NOT a valid excuse if you get pulled over for speeding. You odometer will be off as well.

Tire Dia.

What truck do you have? That will depend on the biggest Dia. you can get without making any mods.

04-05 I would say that a 33" dia. is a good option but it will be tight on the front, (That is 4x4) are you running 4x4 or 2x4?

I have 305/45-22's on my Expy. THey have plenty of sidewall and still ride smooth. They are right at 33 inches tall.

What changes if any did you make to your expy after putting those 22s on? Do you notice any difference in anything?

Let us know what you end up with

Hey JB,
I'll be interested in what you end up getting.
Once my originals go away I want to go big too.

I didn't do anything to my Expy. The 305/45-22's are only an inch taller than my OEM tires. On my Screw, I went from a 30 inch OEM tire to 33 inch tires. My speedometer is off 5 mph at 60 mph, but other than that I've never had any problems with it.

If his Expy and your STX had the same size tires when they were stock, then no you would not have to do anything.
