Question Running 305/40/22's On New Body Style?

To all of you guys running 305/40/22 rubber on the new body style F-150's, did any of you have trouble with tire clearance issues?

I'd like to use that tire on my soon-to-arrive '05 XLT Standard Cab Shortbox. My plan is to probably leave the front at factory height and then shackle the back down 1-1/2" - 2". However, I don't want to go with this tire if I'm going to run into any problems with the set-up clearing the vehicle!

Thanks for any input you can provide!

I've seen 305/45-22's on stock 4x2 04-05 F-150's. I'm sure you could have rubbing if the wheel width and backspacing were not correct.

wandell -

It looks like you are actually running a higher profile (45 height aspect) 22" tire on your Expy -- I would think the wheel well of that vehicle is very similar to that of the F-150 (?). Any clearance problems with your set-up?

I don't have any clearance problems, but my Expy is a different vehicle, so I don't know. I don't think the body of the new Expy and new F-150 are as close as the old body styles were.

How wide are the tires you are using?

What kind of offset/backspacing are you using? Can post pics?
