Arrow Tire Size Opinion Needed

I just bought a 2003 F150 Super Crew xl 2wd and was wondering what the best tire set up ya'll would reccomend for me. I am going for the baja / safari look so as nobby and off roadish as possible without lifting. I currently have the stock 16" rims but would be willing to change everything. Anyone out there with the same truck running a bigger setup without lifting?

Thanks for the help.

If you are not gonna lift the truck, I would suggest a 265/75-16 or 265/70-17 on the stock wheels or 8 inch wide aftermarket wheels.

Ive seen a few 2wds with 265s and I like it.

if you look at the way the tread is designed, that is a scientific method the bfg developed way back in the 70's when they made the A/T. the tread is sort of pieced together like a puzzle so that it inhibits noise and vibration (thats the schpeel my BFG rep told me at work anyway.)about regearing, well i would probably say yea since its 2wd but you might wanna consult wandell on that one if you are gonna go with 285's.

With 265s I would not worry about regearing.
You could probably squeeze 285s in there but they would be VERY stuffed, and you would more than likely have rubbing issues. If you wanted you could install a 2" or 3" body lift and then 285s should fit nicely. Or you could do a suspension lift (spindles up front and lift blocks or add-a-leafs in the rear).

So if you lift it: 285s. No lift: 265s.

Oh and as for noise: I dont think they are too bad, but I always have my radio on or have my windows down, so its really a moot point for me...

I agree. You can squeeze 285's on a stock 4x2 but it is an extremely tight fit. I wouldn't do it without lifting the truck.
