BFG 33"s & no Lift

Who has some pictures of their F150 with BFG KOs 285/70/17 with no lift. Just want to see how it looks since I have the BFGs ordered and don't want to lift my truck. Maybe a small torsion bar adjustment to level it out...

Wandell, I looked for your gallery since I thought you had pictures before your lift, but I can't find it in the useres gallery.

Thanks,

Shane

Looks good.... If you had it to do over would you go with the next size up tire, looks like there would be room? Did you level with tortion bars or not

Thanks,

Shane

These are the same size tire you were looking at. They have no rub to them. I didnt have to torque the torsion bars or trim at all. You might be able to go to the next size up but be careful. You can go to Procomp 33X1250X17's but there will trimming needed to be done. Did you go with AT's or Muds?

I actually just talke to a Hummer dealer near where I'm at and am going to be getting the 315s instead for 1/2 price of the 285s. They are take offs from a brand new H2. The wealth of info here in unreal.....Your truck looks good if this deal falls through I will get the 285s but for the price I can't pass up the 315s....

There's plenty of room for more tire. I didn't tough the torsion bar. If I were to do it again, I'd keep the stock 265/70 and get Revos.

Most people don't notice any performance difference w/ 285/70R17 over 265/70R17, but everyone feels the 315/70. the savings in tire cost will more than make up for a new tranny, or a new rear gear.

Wandell had posted somewhere that with the 3.73 the 35s should be alright. You think they will be too hard on the tranny? I talked with the service manager at my local ford dealership and he said I will feel a power loss but with the 3.73ls it should be alright transmission wise....

Also, the 315's will fit, if you use your stock wheels and crank up the torsion bars. If you don't tow or haul heavy loads, I think you will be alright with the 35's and 3.73. I know if my truck had 3.73 gears instead of 3.55's, my next set of tires would be 35's. You just need to look at how you use your truck.

Well the 315/70/17 BFG AT KOs are on the truck and it fits okay without anything but 5 turns on the torsion bar bolts. I got them installed at the local Hummer dealership for $560, they are brand new off of an H2 that a guy put custom stuff on. When I got there the tech said that the guys in the service dept. were taking bets on whether or not they would fit. Had to take of the front mud flaps and they clear the running boards and the front bumper by about 1/2-3/4". They do hit the frame when the wheels are locked at a full turn though. Is there a turn stop on the F150. The tech said that the jeeps have a adjustable turn stop peg so the tires won't hit the frame in a case like mine. I have to say that it looks pretty good, and there is a little power loss, but I can only really tell when I'm going down the road and step down on it. From a stop it will still spin the tires. I may do a little front bumper trimming tomorrow but otherwise it looks kick a$$. Thaks again for all your help, I will put up a couple of pics tomorrow when I have some time.

Shane
