ABS light & dusty roads
Good Morning:
The ABS light on the dashboard has become steadily lit. I was out driving on extremely dusty desert dirt roads in 4x4 mode. I drove about 100 miles on the dirt roads. Then left the dirt roads and drove approximately 200 miles on paved highway. At which point the ABS light lit up and stayed on.
Is it possible the ABS light is on due to dust in the wheels? Should I try washing the wheels and see if the ABS light goes off? Or should I just take the truck in for servicing? I welcome your comments,
Thanks,
Kelvin

The first thing I would do is to change the rear ABS sensor on top of the rear differential. About U$25 at the dealer. It is the most common failure item in the ABS system. Takes 30 minutes and a 10mm wrench to change.
Beats spending U$100 on the dealer diagnostic and the sensor will fail eventually anyway so you might as well change it now.
