Searched for answer, but can't seem to find exactly my situation

I've searched for someone with this same scenerio, but to no luck.

I have a 2003 F150 reg cab step side. Now it's the 4.6L and i have the FX4 package with the 17 inch wheels.

Now i work here at the BFG tire plant here in Tuscaloosa, AL, and have asked around everyone that works here but gotten MANY DIFFERENT responses.

I recently ditched the 265 goodyears that were stock and put on a set of 285/70R/17's Mud Terrain's on. Now they fit just fine here at stock height and don't rub even in a bind. My question is can i fit a set of 315/70R/17 Mud Terrains under there with ONLY a leveling kit? And maybe just a homemade block for the back. I don't wanna spend some $1000 on a 2" lift kit.

ANYONE please help. All help GREATLY appreciated :-)

i'll have to say no. you'll probably rub like crazy. the only leveling you can do for the front end of a 4x4 is crank the torsion bars, and this will effect ride quality.

plus, you'll be putting on an awefully tall tire for a stock geared 4.6. i say, stay with the 285/70
