Question backspacing & offset for 16x8's

I'm downsizing from the factory 17x7.5's to a 16" rim to save money on tires, but am curious as to what offsets and backspacings will work. I got my local tire shop to fit a 16x8 with 4 1/2" bs, 0 offset w/ no problem, but the wheels I'm looking at have 5" bs with +12mm offset. There's also a 16x10 with 4" bs and -25mm offset. Does anyone know exactly what will fit and what won't? Thanks.

I know that 4 1/2 or 4 5/8 inches of backspacing is what you want on a 16x10. You would also be fine with a 16x8 with 5 inches of backspacing although I think that less would look better on a 16x8.
