Nitto TG tires

What is everyones opinion on the Nitto TG's?? They look like they are an excellent tire, but I am not sure if they will be good on the highway and in the snow here in MN!!

Terra Grapplers are an excellent tire. Several people here and at FTW have them.

Talking i've got em!! yee-ha!

i put on 315/75/16 nitto terra grapplers. these are the perfect combo for street and off road use!! i've been mudding, pre-running, and drove down to california on the highway. i love these tires, and the best part was that they're cheapier because their name is not huge! ie:bfg

No complaints here. Mine are 295/70R17's ride great, low noise, good looks, excellent traction. Only negative thing I ever heard was they don't last as long I guess because of soft rubber (reason for great ride) But I like change so I wouldn't mind getting different ones in a couple of years. Heck, may be ready for my 6 inch lift by then and want bigger ones!

Craig,
Just curious, but do you have any idea of the estimated life in mileage. I am considering these tires as well and I put a lot of mileage on the truck.

thanks

I would guess 30k maybe 35k if mostly highway miles, bfg's will last much longer I put 80k on my set of AT's but it was on a small truck.

Thanks. I think I will go with 285/65-18 BFG AT instead of the 325/60-18 TG, they are virually the same height, and I put between 40-45k a year on the truck. I had BFG ATs on my 2001 Excursion and I got 50-60k out of them, which is a big difference from 30-35k.

thanks
Dave

Get the Graps!!

I was in the same boat fellas. Thought I'd wait for the BFG 285/65/18's but found out that they aren't even in production yet. They couldn't even tell me when they'll start production on that sized tire, however they said most likely the tires will be available for purchase in late July 2005.

I couldn't wait.

Now I've got the Nitto Terra Grappler 325/60/18's on the truck and they look insane. They drive insane, and they cost less than the BFG's.

If they wear out a bit faster so be it.

Thanks for the info. The other issue is, I can more safely run the 285/65-18 on the stock rims. The 325/60-18 are over an 1 1/2 inches wider, and I am not sure I would be comfortable running them on the stock rims. I eventually want to get new 18x9 rims, but to do the rims and tires together is a nice chunk of change.

ah yes.....

yeah, i'd be real hesitant to wrap those 325's over the stocks.

and money is ALWAYS an issue....
