Question 285's OR 33's ??

OK guys, looking for new shoes for the baby. I was set on BFG AT/KO 285/70/17 with stock rims, but 4wheelparts is having a sale on procomps. So what's the difference between these sizes?

285/70/17 or 33/12.5/17

Truck is stock, no lift, so I was wondering if there is any difference in the sizes and if both will fit.

The delima I'm in is 285's = $900 33's = $600
285's are BFG AT/KO, and the 33's are ProComp All terrain that $300 diff will get me new shocks, $260 for rancho rs9000x

Either tire will be mounted on stock rims.

Thanks for any input.

Cajun

They both should fit, although the 33x12.5 is an inch wider and stock wheels are a little narrow for them.

Should be able to find the RS9000x for under $225 shipped w/ the buy 3 get 1 free promotion until April 30th.

the 285's are 33"x11.5", wheras the procomps are 33"x12.5"

the 12.5" wide procomps are probably a little too wide for a stock wheel...but you can probably fit them with a little trimming of the valence or cranking the torsion bars a little.

Procomps tires arent that bad from what I gather.

They will work fine with the stock 17x7.5 wheels.
