Best Size for 05' w/level?

I have been looking a lot trying to figure how big I can go and so on and so forth. With a Daystar level on a 2wd '05 how big can I go? 33" (285) or 35" (305)? from what I have seen a 33" fits no problem. I am uncertain about the 35's though, I have seen some people say they fit great, no rub, etc. I have also seen that they are a little bit too big.

I am really looking at going with a 33x12.50 15" or a 35x12.50 15". I like the 15" because tires are cheaper and there is a bigger variety than the 17" and also I can get the black rockcrawlers on it. ( like the black rims on a black truck)

I am going to get BFG A/T's I just need to know the best size to go with .... give me what ya got

The smallest wheel you can use is 17" so the 15" are out of the question

Holeshots right the smallest wheel you can put on the new model F150s are 17s. After that it all depends on the wheel you choose and what backspacing it has as to what tire will fit without rubbing. Most will allow a 33 X 12.50, but anything larger depends strictly on the wheels backspacing.

On a 4x2 with a 2.5 inch lift, I'd suggest a 285/70-17 (33x11.50). The trucks that I've seen running 35's with a leveling kit were 4x4's which sit higher than your 4x2. Almost all of them also used the stock wheels also. Wider aftermarket wheels with different backspacing changes everything.

I have the same issue. Finding shoes is the problem. Bfg and Goodyears were the only ones I could find. Let me know if you find anything else. thanks.

I don't think a 295/70-17 will fit a 4x2 with only 2.5 inches of lift.

285/70/17 = 32.7x11.2
295/70/17 = 33.3x11.6

We are talkin 1/2" both ways difference about. Nitto makes a 295 that is cheaper than the BFG AT 285. Thats the reason I am wondering, i do mostly road driving with the occasional off road excursion. That being the case if the 295's fit ... cheaper, bigger, better tread life ( fromwhat i have been told). Can anyone confirm for sure if they fit or dont not? Or is 285 absolutly the biggest I can go on a 2wd with level and no rubing or trimming?

Was wondering the same thing myself. 295's would look great but will they fit?
285/70/17 = 32.7x11.2
295/70/17 = 33.3x11.6 Not too different

I don't know about fitting them on a 4x2 with only a leveling kit. You could test fit one and find out. If you buy locally, it shouldn't be a big deal. Just make sure they know that you are gonna buy a set of tires from them.
