Bigger tires?

Hi, I have a question. I have a 98 4x4, and I want to put bigger tires on that will stick out of the fenders. I can't afford a lift right yet, so I just want the added width. I am willing to get rims, if they help get a tire outside of the wheel well. ALso how big of tires could I fit on my stock f-150? THanks for the Help!!

Just out of curiosity, why do you want the tires to extend outside the fenders? If you do extend the wheels, and happen to throw a rock, pray it doesn't hit anything because you will be liable for any damage. Fenders serve purposes for more than just appearance. You may also want to check your state law as may states stipulate that the tires cannot extend beyond the lip of the fender.

Just my $.02

In Connecticut if your wheels stick out of your wells, it is an infraction (ticket) and then you have to get inspected. Not worth the trouble, thats why on the hot rods the cut the axle to get the tires to fit in the wells. Just my 2 cents....
