My neighbor just put Yokohama Geolander A/T tires on his 2002 F-150 and each tire has a red dot on the sidewall.

Can someone tell me what the red dot is for. I was told that was where the valve stem was to be lined up when mounted but, can't be sure.

Fritzthecat: thanks for the reply. Good article. When I looked at my neighbors truck again I noticed the installer did not line up any of the red or yellow dots with the valve stem. In fact, it looks like he tried to make the red dot opposite the valve stem.

I think I will carry the article with me whenever I buy a new set of tires.
