BFG All Terrain Pressure?
Hello all...
After reading through this message board, I have seen a great number of opinions on what the "correct" tire pressure to run is. I have LT265/70/R17/C BFG All Terrains. I know that there really is no "correct" tire pressure to run, but I would like to hear opinions. My main concern is tire wear (quite an expensive investment). What are pro's and con's of running aggressive tire pressure, both high and low. And is there such a thing as a "happy medium" when it comes to tire pressure?
Thanks to all who reply

The happy medium for most uses is listed on your driver's door sticker. More = rougher ride and increased center tire wear, but higher load rating, less rolling resistance. Lower pressure = softer ride, and a lot of negatives. 32-35psi for almost any on-road use.

I am running my LT265/70R17 BFG's at 38 on an 04 F150. On my 01 I ran them at 36. This is the 5th winter I will be using them and I put about 10k on them each winter. For the load range C that is what my sticker showed on the 01. My 04 has is a bit heavier so I bumped it by 2 lbs. This will be the second winter with the 04.

I have the 265/70 R17's too and I've had them at 35psi since I got them almost 2 years ago. Seem to be wearing fine.

Personally, Im a tire distributer and also my company has a tire store we run 35psi in all car and lt. truck tires. With a load range C, 35 should do you just fine. If you have alot of weight in the truck, run 40.
On my red 01 f-150 I have 255/75 16 Load D (8 ply) and I run 45 psi because that truk sees alot of abuse doing construction (old mans a contractor....)
35 is the way to go.

I run between 35 and 40 PSI, usually a little higher in the front though.
Also, as soon as you put different tires on your truck that arent the same model as the ones that were originally on the truck, the PSI listed on your door jamb is useless...

I got mine delivered yesterday from 4-wheel parts. When I checked the pressure, they were all inflated to 40psi. I left them for now, but I think I will air them down to 35 and see how they ride. Not bad at 40 though. I usually run the front ones a couple lbs higher than the rear, say 35 rear 37 front, something like that.
