Question 285/70-17 on 17x10 wheel

I was told last night by my local Tire Discounter, that a 285/70-17 BFG AT would fit fine on a 17x10 wheel.

Wouldn't this tire look to small (narrow) for this wide of a wheel.

If anyone has this tire/wheel combo, please post pics, especially from the rearside.

Ilooked up the specs of the tire and it says the rim with should be 7.5"- 9". so yes it would be to small.
