speed loss with bigger rims?

Does anyone have any info on what kind of speed loss i would experience when going from the stock wheels to 20 in. rims, with a 5.4L v8? Is it even noticeable?

Thanks

I have a 2003 F-150 4.6L and I just put a set of 20x9 inch wheels with 285/50/20 tires and it slowed mine down. It's not a huge difference but it is noticeable. My truck has 3.08 gears so I ordered a set of 3.73 gears and a superchip 1715 tuner today to see if this will help.

2003 F-150 4.6L
K&N Air filter
throttle body spacer
Gibson cat-back exhaust
DJM 2'' lowering shackles
Edelbrock Performer IAS shocks
Tinted windows
Ventshades
Superchip 1715 & 3.73 gears(on the way)

I've got the 5.4 and 20's on my SuperCrew and also noticed a difference. It "feels" a little slower, but I don't know by how much. In my case, looks are more important than speed, so I don't mind it a bit.

I noticed an improvement in handling, mostly due to a stiffer /wider tire (I'm guessing), which is a good side benefit.

It costs you in power to the ground and you notice it.

Depends on what tires you use

If you are close to the same tire height the difference will not be as great .
Weight will be the main difference not the effective new gear ratio which should remain the same if the height is the same
