Wink Tire Upgrade

I have a 1998 150 4X4 with 255 r70 16 on original rims. I'd like to go up a tire size or two. Any recomendations on size and make.

Go with either 265/75 or 285/75 seires tires. Both will fit on a stock truck. I have some Uniroyal Laredo M/T's size 265/75. The last time that I checked that was the only 16" size that they had. The benefit of this tires size is that it won't throw your speedo off as much. The Uniroyal tires that I have are AWESOME. They do great in the snow and they aren't too loud either. They are also alot cheaper than the other tires that I was looking at. I got them for $115 a tire mounted and balanced.

My 2 cents worth

If you're gonna stroke it, POWERSTROKE IT!!!

dougp,
you should think about the 265's...i was pretty set on the 285's until i thought long and hard about how i use my truck...i noticed no power loss, or mileage change with the 265's...they look much better in the fenderwells, too...good luck, Rich.

I have a 4x2, and I went with the 285's, They look great! I noticed no power loss. I guess it depends on what you want out of your truck. I like to drive around town and do some off-roading on the weekends. The 285's I have will definately work great for that. Plus, I think 265's would look small on a 4x4.

Here are what the 265s look like on my truck.

Here is a close up of the tire. I know its not a great picture, but it is the best one I have right now.
