Post 33" Tires (Pictures)

Hey all,

I'm thinking of tossing my 3" body lift and the 35" tires. My wife has too much difficulty getting in. She's 5'1". Anyway I'll stil have the 4" suspension lift. Has anyone tried this application (4" susp lift and 33" tires")? How does it look? Does anyone know of any pictures on the net with this configuration. Also. if I do it the body lift and tires will be for sale/trade. Any takers?

Thanks,
Doc_ford

I have seen a pic of this setup and it looks pretty good...I'll look for the pic. I am going for a suspension lift with 33x12.5 tires on 16.6x9.75 wheels myself. How do you like your Rancho setup?

WSECTION,

It's a good solid lift. I didn't do the install, had it done professionally, but am quite happy with it. The only thing I didn't like was that the brackets that relocate the trans crossmember were bright red as is the whole kit. So, I painted them black. Also, the Rancho 5000's are a little stiff. You might want to try the Edelbrocks. There are some threads regarding shocks under the suspension section. I look forward to the pic.

Thanks,
Doc

I have seen many F150's with Goodyyear 305's and BFG 285's both 33" tires and they look great, Ive seen em both with and witout the lift, both ways look awsome. I'm running 265's and want to upgagrade eventually to 35"'s but money is a big issue cause Welds and Centerlines are both big bucks and I have'nt found any other alternative for the F150. Anyways let me know what you want for your lift and wheels and tires so I can see if it'll fit my budget. thanks Dan, my Email is at AOL.

Danfordman,

The body lift is sold. I have a guy meeting me Wed afternoon to buy it. If it falls through i'll let you know. Also, i'm not selling the wheels, they're being re-used. But, I am selling the tires (4) General Grabber MT 35x12.50x16.5 $65 each plus shipping. Also, I have 3 weld center caps for sale $50.

Matbert,

The body lift is sold.

Why not keep the 35"s and still scrap the body lift. The tires will still fit under the lifted suspension alone.

Snowball, that's how I had it when I first lifted it. Then I added the 3" body lift. I've already tossed the 3" body lift and put on a set of 33x12.50x16.5 BF Goodrich AT KO's. I like em alot. Less road noise, better ride, etc. Wish I had set it up this way to begin with

Doc_ford,

I would like to see a photo of your truck with the 33x12.5r16.5 KO's. I am having a Rancho 4" suspension lift installed and I can't decide between these tires on 16.5x9.75 Welds or 295/75r16 KO's on 16x8 Weld Wheels. I am getting mixed signals about 35" tires fitting my truck with a 4" suspension lift, Pro Comp says they will fit Rancho says 33" is as big as you can go. Did your 35" tires ever rub when you were running only the 4" suspension lift? How far beyound the fender lip do the 12.5" wide tires stick out? Are you having any damage to your paint from tire spray?

Thanks Rick

You can fit 35's with only a 3" body lift. See it done at http://www.geocities.com/Baja/Mesa/9131/

Abett:
you say you are having a Rancho lift installed? what's the labor cost on a job like that? Also, I've got 33" tires(BFG AT 285/75/16) on Mickey Thompson challenger forged alluminum wheels with NO lift. No rubbing except if I'm playing hard The front tire(s) will rub on the plastic bumper skirt in a hard turn. A little trimming would fix it easily.
let me know about your Rancho install.

WSECTION,
4Wheel Parts Wholesalers quoted me $500 labor to install the Rancho lift. 33x12.5 tires on 16.5x9.75 rims stick out about 1.5" farther than your 285/75r16 on 16x8 MT rims,it's the width that gets you into trouble when you turn.

WSECTION,
Do you have the factory plastic mud flaps, or did you have to trim them or just take them off to fit the 285/75/16 BFG M/T's? I was wondering because that's exactly the tires that I'm going to buy.

fordif....
it was actually the bumper valence that was getting rubbed. although the factory flaps do look a little odd.
you decide on the flaps, but I think I may change them
