Heh. I have been lurking this board, looking for new wheels/tires. Ended up buying the American Racing Python's in 16x8, and putting Goodyear 305/70R16's on my '01 Supercrew 4x4. No rub and they look great!

One scary thing tho...

Parking garage clearance= 6'8"
My Crew height= 6'7"

Must drive ssssllllooowwww!

I'll get some pics up when I get my truck cleaned...it has road salt all over it.

Thumbs up

MangeMD,

Sounds sweet. I am in the process of buying rims for my Screw. I know I wanted the 16 X 8 and I am looking @ 285/75/16 BFG's. Is Goodyear the only one who makes a 305/70/16? Can't wait for you to post pics, it must really affect the stance .

The Goodyear/AR combo really fills up the wheelwells nicely. Not only is there no rubbing, but the tires do NOT stick out past the fenders, which is illegal in WV.
The flowmasters sound really good on the 5.4 as well .

Next up: Radio/subs

Steven...I think they are AT/R's. They aren't the MT's. I drive about a hundred miles a day...hardly ever off-road.

The AT/R or the AT/S? Yeah, those parking garages are so low in some places. I know by being in a hospital one the other day that they are. My antenna kept hitting the lower portions. I can imagine how it must feel knowing that you barely made it. I would still think that I would hit it, even though there's no way. Sounds like a sweet truck. Buddy of mine has the Pythons on his Dodge Ram, and they look sweet.

That's a sweet brushguard. I need one of those in stainless.

My parking garage IS a hospital parking garage.

Steven, where did you get your grill guard? Does Manik make that in stainless or chrome?

The Smittybilt 'Outland' is similar, but my local dealer wants nearly 900 bucks for it in stainless.

I'll have my pics up in just over one week. Gonna get it detailed inside and out...then I am throwing on some '01 Lightning side markers and tail lights .

Question

I just priced a set of ARE Pythons 16X8 and a set of Good Year 305's from discount tire and I am really considering doing it. I am some what undecided on that set up vs. 33X12.50X17 pro comps AT's and Pythons in 17" From 4 Wheel Parts Wholesale. About $450 difference. My main concearn is too much tire, which hurt my performance and mileage on my 95 Tahoe. (305 70 16) Good Years. But they were Quiet and rode Great! Performed well off road (Loose Sand). It is hard to decide.

Cool

MD-
Your ride looks AWESOME! I was recently reading an article in "Four Wheeler" magazine, about that exact same tire that you purchased. I was going to post a thread to see if that combination would work on a stock 4X4, and then I see your rig - perfect combination!
It looks so good, it's now the wallpaper on my computer.
