Pro-Comp AT vs. Nitto Terra Grappler

I'm getting ready to buy new tires...305/70R16. I've narrowed it down to the following....what are some users opinions on the 2 tires...prices are comparable. Thanks in advance.

I just installed Nitto Terra Grappler today on my 2002 Super Crew FX4. I'm not sure how they will pull offroad but they look good.

I've had my ProComp AT's for about 5,000 miles now and I love them... they're quiet, and still look very tough...

I had the Pro-Comp A/T's on my old truck (see profile). I have to say that they were awesome. They have a 50,000 mile warranty and it's not just words. I had them for about 30,000 miles and they had way more than half the origional grip. I can't give you any info on the Nitto's, but if they are as good as the A/T's, you can't go wrong.

My buddy put the Nitto's on his Cheby today. They look great. The Dumb *&^^ at the shop had them inflated to 65PSI when he left. Another buddy of ours has had them for a couple of months. Judging by the wear on his, I'm not sure they are going to be very longlasting.

Personally, NEITHER!! You get what you pay for. Pro-comp tires are a product made by 4 Wheel Parts Wholesalers, a company well known for producing cheap crap. Pro-comp tires tend to wear irradically and faster than claimed by pro-comp. The good thing about pro-comp (and be sure to ask your dealer about this) is that they come with a factory blemish buy back policy. For the life of your tires, if they ever fail on you due to being defective, pro-comp will by them back. What they will give you depends on how much tread you have left. Nitto Grappers on the other hand have a tendincy to actually RIP while being mounted on rims. I work for a truck modification company and have seen this happen on MANY instances. My suggestion, a BFG is the best tire you can buy for your money. An all-terrain will give you 60,000+ miles. Hope I helped.
