I actually got allot of request for this video to be done and I think it turned out well. As it turned out many are unsure of the whole filter setup inside. I go over the fluid and filter change with all my tips along the way. The setup is the same for any 6R60 or 6R80 transmission found in many Ford Vehicles but this one is demonstrated on a F150.

Even though it will be years until I get to 150k miles to do mine it will be nice to review this before I do it.

 

I would do it ever 60k personally, this grimes eats up the solenoids on these.

 

Not a bad idea I guess - especially since the truck will be around 9 years old by the time I get 60K on it........

 

back in the 4R70W days I would do 30k intervals to keep the fluid looking good and keep the trans happy.

Now the 6R80E I plan on running longer intervals because the Mercon LV seems to hold up better than the outgoing Mercon V
