A little survey for clutch pedal squeeking when you push it to the floor.
Hi all. I have driven a few 5 speeds(any where from 97-02 models) and noticed the clutch making an annoying squeeking sound when pushing the pedal down to the floor.(Including my 02' with 3,000 miles on it). Anyhow I believe the noise is coming from the clutch master cylinder and I was just wondering how common it is amongst us F-150 owners.

My clutch does that too. I took it to the dealer (Ford service) and let the guy depress the clutch, and he said he could'nt hear anything. But I heard it. I think he was about deaf because of all the noise going on in the service dept. (Impact wrenches buzzing, etc.) I found what the problem was though. Look just above the gas pedal and you'll see that where you depress the clutch, that there is a small rod that goes from the clutch to an assembly made of ABS plastic. I found out that when you press the clutch it makes the plastic housing squeek. There is nothing you can do about it. That's just the way it's made. Just my dos pesos.
