Any one put a 4.6l in an 85F150
Was wondering if anyone know of anyone who put a 4.6l in an 85 F150. Now you are probibly wondering why? The 300 6cyl is tired at 205,000 miles and I got a really sweet deal on a 4.6l out of a 94 Crown Vic. Intercepter package. Was wondering if any one has done this yet?
Thanks

My 98 manual says 220hp for the 4.6L.
You'd definitely need to get the whole drivetrain (engine & tranny) for it to work properly. The 4.6 loves to rev. Totally different than the low rpm torque of the previous generation motors.
Also, to make your speedo work it would probably have to be a 97 or 98 model that still have the usual speedo cable, I think in 99 they went to electronic.
You may be better off just to sell what you have and buy a newer one for the benefits.
Good luck anyhow.
