Crankcase Vent Hose

Got a check engine light for lean on both banks. After looking around, found crankcase hose melted on the EGR hose on the left side. It's the hard plastic hose from the driver's side valve cover to the air intake. I took a pick of the part number, but cannot find a replacement online. Anyone know the proper name of the hose, or an alternative part number?

Please post the year and model of the vehicle and which engine it has.

YL3E-6758-BA Crankcase Vent Tube is discontinued. You may have to patch it or cut the bad section out and splice a hose in. You may find one in a junkyard.

2002 F150 2WD 5.4L gas.

I suspected it may have been discontinued, but hoping had a superseded number.

I sure can't find anything. Try the Ford dealer, try a junkyard, try repairing yours.

Thinking w/o a.box...
I would get some type of tossable pie tin and fab a one sided heat shield for it..And if the junkyard has two, buy both. You'va a spare or can sell it here.

And why did YOURS melt? I am not hearing anyone here say, "it happens." Does it plug into a bad seal so hot air leaks past it? Did you overheat?

BTW; a chance to mention this...
Engines in fires, nowadays, w so many plastic parts, some of them become deadly toxic PCBs after a fire and *require* gloves to handle, so I have read.

Google the part number and see what you can find.

No go, that's a 3L3Z, he needs a YL3E. I already did a lot of Googling.
