If u gotta make motor oil purple so people will buy it then your oil probably isn't that good.

'97 F-150 XLT Expidition front end (no idea why). 17inch 4x4 wheels with 32 inch tires flowmasters with tips, K&N filter, 5-spd, 4.2 V-6 bedliner, bright clearcoat red, stepside, hidden hitch, 3.55 gear ratio, tinted windows and a BIG reg ford sticker on the back window (my greatest joy is cutting people off who have calvin pissin on the ford sign and they HAVE to look at my big red sticker)

There was an article in one of my mustang magazines inwhich they used purple, it was good for about 3-5 HP. Don't know about it lub abilities though. Most synthetics are superior.

I've been using it for about a year now in the engine, both diffs. and tranny (even though they recommended not to as they do not have a Mercon V compatible ATF). Noticeable difference- I picked up 2 mpg over Mobil 1 I has previously been using. I was introduced to it by a few engine builders who swear by it. I have also seen a few magazine articles were it was good for some horsepower and torque. All of which my 4.6 4x4 can definitely benefit from.

I've heard about it from some racers that I know of, that is where their big market is. They are on the same level as Redline in that they use a slightly older technology in their synthetics, but tend to be of a high quality when compared to other oils.
As Redline is ester-based, that makes it different, I don't know what RP uses as its primary basestock though.

My best guess would be to go to
www.royalpurple.com
and ask them who the nearest dealer is to your zip code. As I've never bought the stuff, I can't tell you any other way.
