2003 f150 overheating problem

This might be a dumb question I don't know. I have a 2003 f150 with a 4.6 and my oil temp sensor reads a little above the oil icon on the dash. My question is is this where it should read or is it running hot. The truck only has 128,000 miles on it. just recently got a coolant flush. It runs good I just hope I'm not damaging my motor. Any help is appreciated

There is no oil temp sensor. Are you referring to the (coolant) temperature gauge or the oil pressure gauge?

Either way, midscale is normal.

It's not even a real gauge - it's an "idiot gauge". When you start it, it does climb in a linear fashion, then stops in the middle when it's at normal operating temperature. It stays there in the middle without moving unless it's really overheating, then it will immediately peg at the top if that happens. If you want numbers, you need an aftermarket gauge and sender.
