2010 f150 will not start, key stays in start position, no fire
So, I just attempted to start my 2010 f150 4.6L 3V, approx. 85000 miles on it, to no avail. When the key is turned to the start position, it stays in the position, the engine turns more rapidly than normal, and will not fire. I allowed it to turn for a couple of seconds to no avail. The fuel level is low, 44 miles to empty, but has never caused this before. I tried switching from off to on several times and also disconnected the battery, both did nothing. I have a gas can in route, any ideas if its not the gas. Im hoping its just a low fuel issue, but am having strong doubts.
Update: put about 4 gallons of gas in it. Still won't start. Now says 27 miles to empty. I will check for spark in am.
Thanks guys,
Any ideas?

If you are parking uphill, it could well be the level in the tank. Even a 1/4 tank can be a problem if the angle is steep up hill. Is it possible that just the starter is spinning without engaging the flywheel? A new starter will be in order then. Try tapping the starter with a hammer while someone tries to start the truck. If it knocks the solenoid loose, it might start but shows problems with the starter.
