2002 5.4 Triton swap out

Hey. New here. I have a 2002 5.4 triton f150 4x4. The nightmare child that hates spark plugs. I'm looking into doing a swap and would like to not have to worry about spark plugs anymore. Looking for a good motor to swap in that will be more reliable. Something I can drive from Florida to California.

I've read about the 4v Navigator motor swaps and that seems interesting to me. Is this possible? Has anyone actually done it? I see a lot of opinions from people but no hard facts. What swaps have people done and how modular was the swap? Looking for something more plug and play.

If the spark plugs are tightened properly, your 5.4 is one of the most reliable engines ever produced.

If you have already blown a spark plug, a Timesert or a Lock N Stitch insert will last. If you use Motorcraft plugs with NO antiseize and torque them to 28 ft/lb, they will not blow out.

I agree the 2v modular is as reliable as they come. The plug blow out issue is really not a problem. If the plugs are installed correctly as stated above the odds of having a blowout are very small. There is good reason the police and taxis used modulars for so long. Its is not uncommon for them to last 300k. Educate yourself about the blow out problem. I had one and after getting the Timesert repair kit I repaired it in my driveway in about an hour.
