COPS. Global Automotive still good quality?

Hi there,

Just looking for some quick opinions on new COPS. Truck is a 2000 F150, 2WD with the 5.4. 219,XXX miles.

I purchased a set from Global Automotive back in 2009 since that was what everyone here was recommending at the time. They've been great but after a minor coolant leak went undetected I have a few with corroded springs now that are causing trouble.

I found that they still sell them but they are much cheaper for the set now. So I'm sort of questioning if they are still reliable. Any one bought from them lately?

These are the ones: http://www.ebay.com/itm/380980321796?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Thanks,

- Erik

The only cheap coils that I trust these days are Araparts.

Why not just replace the boots and springs on the ones that are damaged? Those are about 3 bucks each at rockauto.com, 5 bucks at O'Reilly's.

I had no idea those springs were replaceable. I thought they were permanent to the coil. That's good to know.

Those Araparts coils are cheap on eBay though. If you think they're decent then I may just get a new set as I'm not sure if the coils were damaged by the coolant.

Thanks,

- Erik

I've been using the Araparts coils for about 1 year now and they have not given me any trouble.
