I have an 06 f150 with the 5.4l 3v engine. It always had the ticking sound from the cams and what not but I noticed in the cold that the engine started making a loud clicking or clapping sound until warmed up. Around last april I was driving and the engine started acting up and running very rough and making weird noises and felt sometimes as if it was binding for a bit then it would let go. Now the engine idles rough and has no power when you really give it some gas but as long as you drive it normal is runs basically fine and sounds fine. The dash doesnt show low or high oil pressure nor has the check engine light ever come on. Has brand new plugs in it also. The engine did however start blowing oil out of the seals on the top end. Any one ever heard of this or experienced this or have any ideas?
