identification help

Scanner reads cylinder 1 and 3 misfire, my question is does that mean cylinder 1 and 3 or is it in firing order sequence

Standing in front of the truck looking at the engine, on the passenger side, number one is the front or first spark plug. Cylinder number three is the third spark plug back. You have a misfire reported on these two cylinders. It may be bad plugs, bad coils, dirty injectors, or a vacuum leak on that side of the engine.


This is a 98 model diagram with coil packs. Yours may have individual coils called COPS.

Yes #1 and #3 cylinders.
