Question Need help timing!

My nephew has an 02 f150 4.6 with the romeo. It supposedly had a new engine it when they bought it in April with 165,000 mi on it. It was making a rattling noise. They took it to a mechanic and he told them it was the timing chains and lifters and quoted them $2500 to fix it. They asked if I could take a look at it cause whew $2500. We pulled the timing cover off and the Chains looked brand new. The only thing I could see is it looked like the tensioners might have been bad. So bought new tensioners. when we pulled the tensioner off,the cams spun and jumped time. We reset the chains using Cams at 90degrees to the head and crank at 6 oclock and Lined up the links in the chains . Put it back together and it started but barely ran( NO knocking). Need some help Do I need rotate the cams another turn and how do I know which cam is out or both. Any help is much appreciated.
