Poor performance and error codes after timing chain replacements
2004 F150 5.4L 3v 173000 miles
I had my passenger side guide break apart and cause all kinds of rattling noise and poor performance. The plastic was getting in the way of the chain and made a lot of noise.
Before I knew the guides were bad I replaced both Cam Position sensors.
I tore into it and replaced both chains and all the guides.
I set the Phasers and crankshaft as the book says and as posted by experienced members here on the site.
It started right up but it runs very bad.
It idles low, shakes alot, and knocks really loud when accelerating. If you can call it accelerating.
I double checked all my connections and all look good
The current codes it has are:
P0012
P0172
P0174
p2196
Please help.
