Does the wiper cowl have to come out to remove engine?

If I use a load leveler, is there enough clearance to pull the engine without removing the wiper cowl? 2006 F150 with 4.6.

Are you..well never mind. What is the problem you for see? What's the big deal about taking that out ? Guess that's what I don't understand. Might take what, all of 5 minutes.

Anyway, -yea if there's a lip on the cowl in that year, one that the engine could come in contact with, you might better remove it. They do break easily..crack.

Does it look like it might hit? I broke a windshield doing an engine R&R once. Not sure how that happened, guessing it was a stress crack.

Don't get me wrong, -I'm not saying remove the windshield too lol.

SO.........changing the motor stressed you to the point of smashing the windshield out with a hammer? I thought you were better than that, brew. That's like back in the days where we measured how long something would take by the number of sixpacks that needed to be consumed to finish the job. Or if you had to call your ex for more cuss words because you ran out.

That would of worked out but, = never could keep track of the pee breaks. I would for awhile, then think , -what in the hell am I doing that for?

Yea, the ex never ran short on cus words. She could rattle them all off right quick, - I had to make mine up most of the time.

I finished pulling the motor today. It was a super tight squeeze between the front radiator support and the firewall without the cowling. The crankshaft pulley barely dragged on the front radiator support as I was lifting. I agree with jbrew that the cowling would likely crack if left in place.
